Will it slip off over my dog’s head? 

This Watercollar attaches to the dog’s own collar. If your dog’s own collar is snug enough to not slip off his head AND IT IS SECURELY FASTENED, the Watercollar will not slip off. The Watercollar will keep your dog’s nose above the surface of the water, even if he is completely exhausted or unconscious.

Is The Watercollar easy to put on?

Yes. Simply thread your dog’s own collar through the loops of the Watercollar. Secure his own collar, making ABSOLUTELY SURE it cannot slip over his head. Join the hook & loop straps together and he’s ready to go. If your Watercollar has a “D-ring,” thread the end strap through the D-ring and fold it back on itself. How long can my pet wear the Watercollar?

Your dog can wear the Watercollar all day, every day. The Watercollar is an extension of his own collar. His collar is simply threaded through the loops and the Watercollar hangs somewhat loosely around his neck. The collar is almost weightless, soft, and is filled with non-absorbent closed-cell foam. It is non-restrictive to the dog’s movements and he will be cool wearing it, even on the hottest days. If your dog is in the water, we recommend removing the Watercollar overnight to hang dry.

Will the Watercollar help my pet overcome fear of being in the water?

Yes. The Hedz Up Pets Watercollar was designed as a teaching tool, as well as for drown prevention. The buoyancy of the collar helps your pet keep his head above water, giving him the confidence he needs to become less afraid — even comfortable in the water. As his fear of the water and of drowning dissipates, he will be able to focus on  your commands and enjoy swimming.

How do I get my pet to wear the Watercollar?

If your little guy is not accustomed to wearing anything except a regular collar and is not already a swimmer or familiar with the water, we suggest that you introduce the Watercollar to him on dry land, with some nice treats for a couple of short segments (maybe 10 minutes each). Then, with even MORE treats, slowly introduce him into the water. Unless you’ve had experience with helping a dog “learn” to swim, we highly recommend you view some YouTube videos on “How to Teach a Dog to Swim,” etc. You — AND YOUR DOG — will be glad you did!! 

Can I wash my pets Watercollar?

Our Watercollars are made of 100% cotton fabric. They are completely machine washable in cold water. We recommend air drying in a shady spot to keep fading to a minimum. For best results, be sure to attach the Velcro-type straps together before washing. To lengthen the life of your Watercollar, after the dog has been in the pool, it is advised that you rinse the collar to remove the chlorine or salt, then let it air dry, fully opened lengthwise.

My Dog has a Medical Issue and is attending Swim/Aqua Therapy - Will your Watercollar Help keep his Nose UP out of the water ?

YES !! Our Watercollar will help to keep his Head, Nose & Ears UP out of the water. We have Many Hydrotherapy centers in the U.S. and Europe that LOVE our Watercollars and are using them in their practice. Lots of our Doggy customers are in Swim Therapy for a variety of medical issues. The Watercollar allows the therapist to give their full attention to the dogs positioning and movement instead of having to constantly hold up the dogs Nose. Your dog is also comforted by the Watercollar once they learn they do not have to struggle to keep their nose up any longer while in the water.
